Pictures from Home

We went to feed the cows. They will surely need those winter coats with the cold winter they are having. That morning it was 4. The cows are in the barn at the old home place that my parents owned. It's about a 10 mile drive everyday to feed and water them.

This picture shows the barn at my brother's house with "some" of the winter wood supply. He heats his house with mainly wood, having a wood furnace, a wood cooking stove in the summer kitchen and another wood heating stove in a room he built onto the summer kitchen. This barn is used for a garage and workshop. No cows allowed.

The barn was built in 1850 and the house about 10 years later.

The snow was covered in ice so there wasn't really an opportunity to get out and play in it. There was a pond that we could have ice skated on but it was just too difficult to get to the ice.
